The mission of Gea Custom is to help families remodel their home to be one that reflects their personal style and functions perfectly for them. We focus on making this process creative, fun, and stress free. We achieve this by offering personalized remodeling solutions tailored to fit each family’s unique needs and lifestyle. Through thoughtful design and planning, we ensure that every project balances beauty with practicality. To keep the remodeling experience smooth and enjoyable, we prioritize clear communication and collaboration at every stage. With advanced 3D design tools, we help clients visualize their project early on, ensuring their vision is realized with precision. Our Story

Gea Custom started from a shared passion for transforming spaces. As a husband-and-wife team, we discovered our unique strengths while remodeling three of our own homes over the years. Doug quickly realized that Kristy has a magical ability to see what a space could truly be before it’s remodeled. In turn, Kristy learned that Doug enjoys the challenge of recreating her vision and making it a reality. Our remodeling journey began with a house that needed significant repairs to make it comfortable. With our second house, we focused on making it market-ready and appealing for sale. After seeing the incredible transformation, we realized we should have fixed it up sooner so we could have enjoyed it while we lived there. But of course, during that time, we were also caught up in the chaos of raising three young girls and building our own businesses. After learning from our previous experience, we knew that when we searched for a new home in Rosemount, MN, we wanted a space we could live in and customize to work perfectly for our family. This involved adding a beautiful deck with a pergola, knocking down walls, and creating an open floor plan featuring a stunning kitchen island. In other rooms, we added a custom-made Murphy bed, built-in storage with floating shelves, and a variety of interior design elements. We love having a beautiful and functional space for our family. Encouraged by friends and family, we decided to use our talents and vision to help other families create a home they love too.

About Our Name: Gea Custom Remodel & Redesign

For us, Gea means family. G, E, and A are the initials of our three daughters: Gracie, Ellie, and Ava. We pronounce Gea like “Jee-Uh.”

The word “Custom” represents our mission to customize your home according to your vision.

The words Remodel & Redesign reflects our approach—we’re not just remodeling by putting up walls; we’re here to help you redesign your space to not only be beautiful but also to function perfectly for your family.

Doug Kasper - Lead Project Manager

Doug has owned 1 2 3 Home Theater since 2009. He has worked on everything from installing state-of-the-art home theater systems to designing custom audiovisual solutions for hundreds of satisfied clients. While Doug loves technology, his true passion lies in knowing that his work helps bring families together for memorable movie nights. Being one of the last trades during the final stages of home construction or remodeling, he would hear the positive and negative stories homeowners had from the contractors they worked with.

Hearing this, Doug set out to create a much more positive experience for our customers by addressing common homeowner frustrations. He focuses on ensuring clear communication, reliable scheduling, and a smoother overall process. Leveraging his technology background, Doug integrates 3D design tools to help customers visualize their projects ahead of time, enhancing communication and ensuring they stay informed and involved at every step of the process.

Kristy Kasper - Lead Designer

Kristy has owned and operated the home staging company With Buyer’s Eyes since 2014. She has used her design skills to help families receive the most value from one of their largest investments. However, she realized that while staging homes for sale was rewarding, helping homeowners create spaces they love and can enjoy for many years is even more fulfilling.

Homeowners often remarked after seeing their transformed homes, ‘I wish we had set it up this way while we lived here,’ which inspired Kristy to focus on creating spaces that families can truly live in and enjoy, not just prepare for sale. Now, as Lead Designer at Gea Custom, Kristy can do exactly that. She is excited to use her keen eye for design and her staging experience to craft personalized spaces that balance style and practicality for modern living.
